Distance Practice Routine

**Distance practices every day after school during the season from 3:15 to 5:15**

#1 - FULL GROUP WARM-UP on TRACK

Includes: 800 Jog, 800 Dynamics, Leg Swings, Hurdle Stretch, Accelerators, Strides

#2 - Distance Meeting

Includes: Static Stretching/Foal Roll on Own, Review Daily Plan & Set Tiers (corner of Football field)

#3 - Workout (See Distance Calendar)

Notes: all workouts are specific to target race distances and are "Tiered" to accommodate ALL athletes...we love and have a place for the 5 min milers and the 10 min milers!!! 

#4 - Cool Down Run/Jog

Notes: basic cool down will be based on workout and what part of town we are in...it may simply be jog/walk back to HS

#5 - Stretch/Foam Roll/Core (see Stretching Guide Below)

Notes: this will be an informal meeting at the end of practice, ALL athletes will be expected to check into our "Distance Spot" & encouraged to complete a series of stretches and foam rolling techniques.  This is also a time to get in a quick core/arm workout with your team mates.

#6 - Strength and Conditioning

Notes: Distance does have bi-weekly sessions with Coach Josh Anderson in the Weight room.  Coach Anderson has a specific program set up for our team and FULL attendance at these events is expected.  Please see Distance Schedule for strength times/dates.
